Patient Transfer Lifts with Scales

The Des Moines, Iowa VA Health Care System requires name brand or equal additional Ez Way smart stand with scale/S500PS1-03 floor-based patient lifts and charger assemblies. These lifts are intended to replace current Ez Way lifts that have reached the end of their service life and will be used for patient care throughout the facility. The required lifts must be capable of holding at least 500 pounds, be motorized, and include a functional scale up to its full capacity. Additionally, they must come with a charger and two batteries to ensure continuous operation, feature adjustable and removable footplates, adjustable shin pads, and adjustable legs. A bag for slings and three control methods (thumb switches, front panel, and hand control) are also required. The unit should have an automatic shut-off after 20 minutes of non-use, manual lowering in case of a dead battery, and tool-free battery changes. The warranty requirements are 10 years on the frame, 36 months on components, and 12 months on the battery. The equipment must also meet VHA Directive 1611 regarding the Safe Patient Handling and Mobility Program.
