Diagnostic Medical Physics Services

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Atlanta VA Health Care System (AVAHCS), intends to award a firm-fixed-price sole-source contract for Diagnostic Medical Physics Services. This procurement is being made under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), allowing for solicitation from a single source when only one is reasonably available. The contractor will provide qualified Board Certified Diagnostic Medical Physicists to perform periodic and annual performance testing, acceptance testing, protocol review, and consultation for diagnostic imaging and radiation-emitting equipment at AVAHCS and associated Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). These services are crucial for ensuring compliance with Joint Commission, American College of Radiology (ACR) standards, Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) requirements, Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations, CRCPD guidelines, and manufacturer specifications. The services cover modalities including General Radiography, Fluoroscopy, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Dental, Nuclear Medicine and PET, Mammography, Radiation Oncology Linear Accelerators, and Bone Density equipment.
