USS AMERICA (LHA 6) FY26 Ship Maintenance and Repair - Sole Source

This sole-source contract action adds Work Item 980-90-065 to General Dynamics NASSCO's existing contract N00024-25-C-4404 for the removal, alteration, and installation of the AN/SPN-41B system on the USS AMERICA (LHA 6). This work is part of the Fiscal Year 2026 Docking Selected Restricted Availability (DSRA), which began on November 20, 2025, and has a delivery date of July 19, 2027. The removal is scheduled from February through March 2026, with follow-on work and testing through July 2027. This is a mandatory alteration required prior to the ship's deployment, and timely completion is critical to avoid significant financial costs and operational risks, including delaying the ship's undocking and impacting its role as the primary power projection platform for the Pacific Fleet. NASSCO is considered the only responsible source capable of completing this work within the required timeframe without significant risk.
