Hughesville Village Test Well Construction

Charles County Government is requesting bids from qualified contractors for the construction of a test well for Hughesville Village. This project is part of the 2007 Hughesville Village Revitalization Plan, which aims to establish a centralized water system. The plan includes drilling two wells into the Patuxent and/or Magothy aquifers, capable of providing an average daily flow of 389,000 gallons. The scope of work involves mobilization, erosion and sediment control measures, drilling pilot holes, constructing, developing, and testing new test wells, offsite disposal of drilling fluids, and demobilization and site restoration. The project may involve drilling to the Patuxent aquifer at an estimated depth of 2,000 feet and potentially to the Magothy aquifer at an estimated depth of 600 feet.
