Fire Suppression System Rehabilitation at Dellenbaugh Administrative Site
NATIONAL PARK SERVICE
The National Park Service (NPS) requires upgrades, repairs, and rehabilitation of the fire suppression system for two log cabins at the Dellenbaugh Administrative Site, located within Mohave County, Arizona. The cabins' occupancy codes have changed from residential to lodging, necessitating additional fire suppression components to comply with applicable National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes. This project includes the installation of a submersible pump, wet pipe valves, gauges, alarms, piping, electrical systems, control components, and automatic sprinkler heads. A new incoming service main will be installed from an existing water tank, along with a fire alarm detection system, control panel, smoke detectors, and heat sensors. Sections of walls, flooring, and ceiling tile will require demolition and replacement for system installation. New wiring will be installed in conduit, and manual pull stations will be placed at door openings. The Dellenbaugh admin site is a remote location with no cellular, landline, cable, or public internet service, and no medical facilities or vehicle maintenance services within 90 miles. Access is via unimproved roads, and high clearance, 4-wheel drive vehicles are recommended. The project magnitude is estimated between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This acquisition is a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 238220.
