The National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL) within the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requires urgent repair services for a Bauer breathing air compressor, model VTC-7K/20, serial number 233012. This compressor is essential for conducting respirator approval and audit testing, including for CBRN, SCBA, and Firefighting respirators. It is the only NIOSH-owned compressor capable of producing the required 7000 psi. Until the repair is complete, there is a significant risk to the respirator approval program. The scope of work is limited to parts and labor necessary to return the compressor to full operational status. The repairs will involve replacing specific components including the 83493-EU FILTER CHAMBER 550BAR (BKM), 083544 SEP,OIL/WATER;COALESC,550BAR, and N17066-517 VAL,SAFETY;517BAR,RP1/2"M.
