Waterfront Information Center Opportunity
Burlington, VT
The City of Burlington Parks, Recreation & Waterfront (BPRW) is soliciting proposals from vendors to occupy a 12' x 19' space within the Pease Lot Information building on Burlington's Waterfront. The goal is to enhance the visitor experience by providing tourist-related information, such as maps, points of interest, and basic travel assistance. Proposals are encouraged for services and concessions that foster visitor interaction and celebrate local offerings. The selected vendor will also be responsible for light sweeping of adjacent public restrooms and the exterior of the building. Potential uses for the space include information services, retail sales of tourist-related items (with a preference for local products), ATM services, snack and beverage offerings, and ticket sales for local attractions. The primary operating season for public information services is from May 15 to October 15 annually, with a minimum expected operation of 11 am to 6 pm. Year-round office use is possible if the core mission of providing information services is maintained. The City will provide utilities, routine restroom cleaning during the operating season, snow removal, and ice melt. The vendor will be responsible for interior cleaning of the information center, internet and phone service, and any necessary upkeep of restrooms if using the space year-round.
