COSCA Invasive Species Management Services
City of Thousand Oaks COSCA is an independent agency, not a department of the City of Thousand Oaks
The Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency (COSCA) is soliciting proposals for invasive species management services. The project involves the removal of six target invasive plant species: fennel, yellow star thistle, artichoke thistle, Russian knapweed, tree spurge, and carnation spurge, across five distinct work sites within COSCA's open space system. Treatment will primarily involve the spot application of herbicides, with specific methodologies and herbicide types detailed for each site. Successful bidders must demonstrate prior experience in non-native plant management, possess strong native and non-native plant identification skills, and hold a valid C-27 Landscape Contractor License from California. Additionally, contractors must be licensed by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (CDPR) as a Pest Control Operator, and applicators must hold a Qualified Applicator's License or Certificate (QAL/C) or be under direct supervision. The project aims to protect and restore vital wildlife habitats and preserve biodiversity by managing invasive species that threaten native plant communities and ecological processes.
