City of Santa Barbara Purchasing
RFP No. 5124
]laguna flood resilience study
The City of Santa Barbara is soliciting proposals for a Laguna Flood Resilience Study. This study will involve creating a watershed drainage model for the Laguna Watershed and its stormwater system. It will analyze current and future flood risks, considering climate change impacts. The study will also identify priority adaptation strategies, such as storm drain capacity enhancements, improvements to the Laguna Pump Station Facility and tide gates, and the implementation of green infrastructure. Furthermore, it will assess the effectiveness of these proposed adaptation options. This study represents the initial phase of the City's broader plan to develop comprehensive flood modeling for all four of its main watersheds and a citywide Master Drainage Plan. The study will be partially funded by a Coastal Conservancy grant for the Wastewater and Water Systems Climate Adaptation Plan, and the selected consultant and contract must adhere to the grant's governing conditions. Additionally, the City's Measure B Funds may be available for components of the study that align with Measure B funding criteria and Creeks Division objectives.
