Lake Vermilion-Soudan Underground Mine State Park Hiking Trails Rehabilitation

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is soliciting bids for labor, equipment, materials, tools, transportation, and incidentals to rehabilitate hiking trails damaged by floods in 2024. The project involves replenishing approximately 152 cubic yards of gravel, constructing thirty "C" steps and nineteen water bars or rolling dips across eight trail locations. Additionally, one thirty-foot extension to an existing wooden walkway will be built, and one water bar will be installed using native site materials. The work is to be performed at Lake Vermilion-Soudan Underground Mine State Park. The contract period is from July 1, 2026, to October 30, 2027. Bidders are strongly encouraged to visit the site to understand existing conditions. All responses must be submitted electronically through the SWIFT Portal by May 19, 2026.
