The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is soliciting bids for the labor, equipment, materials, tools, transportation, and incidentals necessary to legally and correctly install and complete two groundwater observation wells (environmental wells) in Rice County at Sunktokeca Creek WMA near Faribault. The project involves drilling into consolidated bedrock formations using rotary and/or hammer methods. The wells will have 4-inch steel casing, with estimated depths of 455 feet for the Jordan aquifer well and 605 feet for the Upper Tunnel City aquifer well. Each well will be developed and completed with an 8-inch diameter steel pro-top, locking cap, and three steel protection posts. All work must comply with the Water Well Construction Code (Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 103I) and Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4725. Contractors must be licensed by the Minnesota Department of Health as a Well Contractor. The project requires adherence to prevailing wage statutes and includes requirements for subcontractor reporting, insurance, and a solicitation bond for bids exceeding $50,000.
