Description

The Minneapolis VA Health Care System requires Mobile Functional Electrical Stimulation Therapy Systems and Functional Electrical Stimulation Cycle Systems. These systems are intended for physical medicine and rehabilitation to assist veterans with neurological conditions and spinal cord injuries. The Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) cycle exercise systems are motorized rehabilitation devices that stimulate leg, arm, and trunk muscles to promote blood circulation and muscle strengthening. The mobile FES therapy system enhances functional activity in neurologically impaired Veteran patients by sending electrical impulses to activate paralyzed or weak muscles. Key features required for the FES Cycle exercise system include real-time biofeedback, integrated functional electrical stimulation with at least 12 channels, combined therapy, auto-progression, active spasm management, remote adjustability, portability, and various program options for different muscle groups. For the Xcite2 mobile FES therapy system, requirements include 12 channels of FES, libraries for upper extremity, lower extremity, and general activities, battery power, a mobile therapy cart, training, and the ability to support activities of daily living, mobility training, and exercises with coordinated FES. This is a sources sought notice for market research purposes only. No contract awards will be made from this announcement.
