Upper Body Robotic Exoskeleton Licensing Opportunity
NATIONAL AERONAUTICS AND SPACE ADMINISTRATION
NASA's Technology Transfer Program is soliciting inquiries from companies interested in obtaining license rights to commercialize, manufacture, and market a soft, wearable, robotic upper limb exoskeleton garment. This technology, developed at the NASA Johnson Space Center, is designed to actively control the shoulder and elbow, assisting in positioning and motion for patients with neurological impairments such as traumatic brain injury or stroke. Its portable, battery-compatible design allows for intensive, task-specific motor practice outside of clinical settings, including in the home. Beyond its primary application in upper extremity motor rehabilitation, the technology also has potential applications in human performance augmentation, including future spacesuit designs. Companies interested in this licensing opportunity are invited to submit an application through NASA's Automated Technology Licensing Application System (ATLAS) by visiting https://technology.nasa.gov/patent/MSC-TOPS-85. For inquiries, please email Agency-Patent-Licensing@mail.nasa.gov with the title of this Technology Transfer Opportunity and your preferred contact information.
