Advanced Manufacturing Solutions for Supersonic Aircraft
DEPT OF DEFENSE
The U.S. Department of War, through the Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment (IBAS) program, is seeking innovative advanced manufacturing solutions to address challenges in the production and sustainment of supersonic aircraft. Current capabilities are insufficient to meet demands for reduced costs, enhanced performance, and a strengthened domestic supply chain, posing risks to national security. This opportunity invites entities to submit solutions that accelerate development timelines, enable the use of advanced materials, and reduce acquisition and sustainment costs. Desired capabilities include advancements in additive manufacturing (3D printing) for flight-critical components, application of lightweight and high-strength materials, integration of robotics and automation, techniques for reverse engineering legacy systems, advanced repair technologies, and implementation of digital engineering tools. Submissions are being collected via the Tradewinds Solutions Marketplace (TSM) on SAM.gov between May 15, 2026, and June 24, 2026. Awardable solutions will be placed in the TSM for future procurement actions, potentially through the Defense Industrial Base Consortium (DIBC).
