2026-2027 Sodium Bisulfite Solution for Wastewater Treatment Plants
Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District Operations and Maintenance
The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) requires a contractor to supply up to 3,100,000 wet pounds (approximately 282,000 gallons) of sodium bisulfite solution for a 12-month period. This solution will be used to dechlorinate wastewater effluent at the Easterly Wastewater Treatment Plant, Southerly Wastewater Treatment Center, and Westerly Wastewater Treatment Center (WWTPs). The awarded bidder must be capable of supplying the specified product and quantity for the contract's duration. The sodium bisulfite solution must be newly manufactured, in current production, and compatible with the present operation and facilities. The solution concentration should be a minimum of 38.0% sodium bisulfite by weight, with specific density, appearance, and pH levels. It should also have low mercury and iron concentrations and be free of substances that would interfere with chlorine removal or chemical solution flow. Deliveries will be made to the specified WWTPs after a purchase order is issued, typically between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Tanker trucks with a nominal capacity of 4,000 gallons or greater are required for delivery. The contractor must provide a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and comply with all applicable environmental regulations.
