Description

This opportunity is for the repair, maintenance, and testing of fire protection systems for State of Iowa facilities located in the Des Moines Metro area. The contractor will be responsible for providing licensed, code-compliant inspection, testing, preventive maintenance, and emergency repair services. This includes water-based fire suppression systems (wet, dry, preaction, deluge), fire pumps, standpipes, fire alarm and detection systems, clean-agent and special hazard suppression systems, fire hydrants, backflow preventers, and portable fire extinguishers. The contractor must also provide services for system impairments, including documentation and temporary protection measures. Emergency response is required 24/7/365, with technicians expected on-site within two hours for Capitol Complex emergencies and four hours for other state facilities. All work must comply with relevant industry standards such as ASTM, ANSI, NFPA, and state/local codes. The contractor must also provide training to designated agency staff on operational maintenance of the systems.
