Description
The National Park Service is seeking a contractor to design and install a complete photovoltaic (PV) solar power system capable of delivering approximately 50 amps of electrical service to the Outworks Restroom, a designated historic structure located in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The system must be designed as an off-grid system, as commercial utility power is not currently available. The system should support restroom operations for a minimum of eight hours per day and include battery storage. All work must comply with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties and National Park Service preservation policies, with a strong emphasis on minimizing visibility from public viewpoints, preserving historic rooflines, and avoiding damage to historic materials. The contractor will be responsible for all labor, materials, supervision, equipment, permits, and incidentals necessary for the project, including a detailed site investigation, development of stamped design drawings by a licensed Professional Engineer registered in Puerto Rico, obtaining all required permits, and providing high-efficiency, corrosion-resistant, hurricane-rated materials. The period of performance is 180 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.
