Description
The National Park Service (NPS) is seeking information regarding interested businesses for the South Entrance and Visitor Center Road Rehabilitation project located in Zion National Park, Utah. This project is anticipated to be a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) with a single Firm-Fixed-Price contract, expected to be awarded in Winter 2026/Early 2027. The magnitude of construction is estimated to be over $10 million, with an anticipated period of performance of 730 calendar days. The scope of work includes roadway realignment between State Road 9 and the existing Zion shuttle maintenance building, installation of a new bridge over the Virgin River, multiple roundabouts, reconfiguration of parking lots, and the relocation and installation of electrical, water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer utilities. The project requires maintaining traffic to visitor and bus maintenance facilities at all times, installation of signs and striping, and drainage infrastructure. Special attention must be paid to protecting sensitive resource areas, including archeologically sensitive areas, and ensuring the surrounding environment remains undisturbed. The park will remain open during construction, necessitating careful scheduling to minimize visitor impact.
