Description
The Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC) requires a tow-behind, single-axle leaf vacuum trailer with curbside vacuuming capability. This equipment is essential for the efficient removal of natural debris such as leaves, twigs, and grass clippings to maintain a safe and hazard-free campus environment. The trailer must be a single-axle unit with a minimum 6,000 lb. gross axle weight rating (GAWR) and a leaf spring suspension. It should be compatible with 2-inch and/or 2-5/16-inch ball hitches and engineered for versatile collection of leaves, grass clippings, and other light debris in various environments. The trailer must be safely and efficiently operable by a single person. The engine should be a minimum 13 HP gasoline engine with both electric and manual start, and a minimum 5-gallon remote fuel tank. The hopper capacity must be between 12 and 30 cubic yards, constructed from heavy-duty, all-welded steel (minimum 12-gauge). It must feature a full hydraulic dump system for unloading and rear access via barn doors or a single-piece top-hinged rear door. The intake hose should be a minimum 8-inch inner diameter and 12.5 feet usable length, made of heavy-duty, wire-reinforced urethane or rubber. A convertible hose boom/support for right or left-hand pickup is required, with a quick-disconnect mechanism. The chassis and trailer structure must have a heavy-duty ladder-style steel frame, a single axle with a minimum 6000 lbs load rating, and industry-standard turf tires. A full DOT-compliant LED lighting package with safety strobes and a manual or hydraulic front jack stand are also required.
