Description
The United States Coast Guard Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) is conducting market research to identify sources capable of providing or manufacturing an Electric 5k-6k Draw Bar Pull (DBP) Burden Carrier Tractor. The tractor should have a draw bar pull force between 5,000 and 6,000 lbs, with dimensions not exceeding 120 inches in length (without hitches) and 90 inches in height. It must be powered by a Lithium-Ion battery with a minimum capacity of 10kW and include an on-board charging system compatible with 208-240V or 440-480V input voltage. Key performance requirements include a minimum forward speed of 15 mph on level, paved roads, hydrostatic steering with emergency power failure support, and robust braking systems (service and parking). The tractor must feature an enclosed operator and passenger cab with safety glass, 360-degree visibility, heating capable of maintaining +40°F at -25°F ambient temperature, and operational lighting compliant with road traffic regulations. Additional specifications include a weatherproof dash cam, an audible backup alarm, an electric horn, a 20-pound capacity ABC fire extinguisher, and corrosion-resistant coatings suitable for tropical environments. The tractor will require specific markings, including capacity, GVW, and NSN, and must have provisions for slinging and tie-down. Manuals, including hardcopy and electronic (PDF) versions, are required, with permission granted for uploading to the USCG intranet.
