Description
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is soliciting applications for the National HIV Clinical Training for Residents Program. This initiative aims to expand the HIV clinical workforce by training residents from various medical disciplines to prevent, diagnose, treat, and link individuals with HIV to care. The program will fund one recipient who will partner with at least eight geographically dispersed residency programs to provide education, training, and technical assistance. These programs will enhance the capacity of healthcare delivery systems to reduce HIV infections nationwide, supporting the Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. initiative. The training curriculum will utilize the National HIV Curriculum and focus on developing expertise in HIV care and treatment, establishing a collaborative online learning community, and increasing the clinical competency of residents. The program seeks to reduce new HIV infections by focusing on care and treatment strategies that lead to viral suppression and by reaching individuals who are out of care. The award is a cooperative agreement with an estimated total program funding of $3,500,000 over a four-year period of performance.
