Description
The Bureau of Diplomatic Security's Physical Security Division Research & Development Branch requires contractor support to conduct large-scale blast testing and fragmentation characterization of Department anti-ram perimeter systems. This effort will involve two phases: Phase 1 will focus on debris characterization of baseline anti-ram barriers under a simulated 2,000-lb TNT-equivalent blast, and Phase 2 will evaluate debris from modified systems using proposed opaque claddings to assess hazard mitigation properties. Key activities include high-speed videography, dynamic data collection, post-blast debris assessment, detailed reporting, and the generation of updated engineering drawings for the DOS Physical Security Handbook. The anticipated NAICS code is 541715 - Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences. An accelerated schedule of up to 24 months is preferred.
