Description
The US Fish and Wildlife Service, Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge (NWR), located in McCone and Garfield Counties, Montana, requires the replacement of boundary and interior fence within the Bobcat Creek Habitat Management Unit. The project is situated on Bobcat Point near Fort Peck, Montana. The scope of work includes approximately 1.6 miles of new boundary fence construction, 1.8 miles of old fence removal and replacement, 2 miles of fence modification (replacing the bottom barbed wire with smooth wire), and 9 miles of complete fence removal. The new fence will consist of four strands of wire, with the bottom strand being barbless and the upper three being barbed. The contractor is responsible for removing all old fencing materials and disposing of them properly. The period of performance is expected to begin as soon as possible after notice to proceed, with completion by June 30, 2027. This is a firm-fixed-price construction contract set aside for small businesses. The estimated project magnitude is between $100,000 and $250,000. Award will be based on a best-value determination, considering price, technical approach, and relevant experience. Payment and performance bonds will be required for amounts over $150,000, and a payment bond is required for amounts over $35,000. A bid bond is not required.
