Description
The U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (USMARC) requires swine feed and feed additives to support their research population. The solicitation specifies a one-year period of performance, with deliveries generally occurring once per month or as needed between Monday and Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The contractor will be responsible for providing various types of swine feed and feed additives, including HEWOA Pellets, SS-400 Plus Premix, HD-80 Plus Premix, 40LT Premix, and Sow Base AA80 Eco Plus. Specific requirements include the inclusion of Direct Fed Microbials (DFMs) like Provent and Visano to promote gut health, and a mold binder/inhibitor such as M-Mobilize. The contractor must also provide complete base mixes for nursery, grower, finisher, and sow rations, with associated costs per ton. Quality control is paramount, requiring regular contact with the swine operations manager, periodic review of rations, and testing of samples to ensure proper balance, grind fineness, and absence of mold/toxin issues. Any delivered feed of poor quality will be rejected.
