Description
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) National Canine Division (NCD) is soliciting quotations for Labrador Retrievers to be trained as detection canines. These canines will be used for explosives, accelerant, and post-blast evidence detection, and will also be capable of detecting firearms and ammunition. The contract will be a firm-fixed-price Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with one 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods. The ATF anticipates purchasing between one and sixty canines over the life of the contract, with an average need of approximately 12 canines per year. The canines must be between 12 and 24 months old, healthy, well-socialized, extremely trainable, and athletic, with a strong food drive and environmental stability. The primary place of performance will be the National Canine Center in Front Royal, Virginia.
