Autopsy Transportation Services for VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System

Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to provide autopsy transportation services for deceased patients. Patients will be picked up from the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System's University Drive or Heinz locations and transported to either the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) or the Allegheny County Coroner's Office. The contractor must use approved stretchers or containers for human remains, ensuring the body is fully covered and transported with dignity. Pickups are required within 60 minutes of notification, with an included 30-minute wait time at pickup and delivery. Additional wait time beyond 30 minutes will incur charges. The contract will be a 5-year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) with an anticipated effective date of July 1, 2026, and an expiration date of June 30, 2031. Service Contract Labor Standards Act applies, and wage determinations for Allegheny County are provided.
