Description
Dane County Department of Human Services is soliciting proposals for a program that provides stipends for temporary work experience and/or employment training. The goal is to lead participants toward in-demand, living-wage employment. This program is intended for low-income, highly-barrier job seekers residing in Dane County. Stipends can be used for work experience or volunteer time, or for short-term vocational training, and are time-limited. Proposals prioritizing short-term training leading to industry-recognized credentials aligned with local labor market demand may receive stronger evaluation scores. The contract will be for one year, with an option to renew for four additional one-year periods. Vendors must demonstrate the ability to track participation, administer payroll, and develop and maintain work experience sites. They will also be responsible for administering participant payments in compliance with all applicable labor, wage and hour, tax reporting, and record-keeping requirements. Reporting requirements include weekly participation tracking, monthly invoices and expense reporting, and quarterly reports. The program is expected to serve approximately 40 individuals annually, with stipends historically up to $300 based on hours of participation.
