Fordem Avenue - First Street Relief Sanitary Sewer Replacement

Description
The City of Madison is soliciting bids for the replacement of a sanitary sewer main, encompassing a range of services including excavation, base preparation, curb and gutter installation, driveway apron work, sidewalk replacement, base course construction, asphalt pavement, and pavement marking. The project spans approximately 370 feet, beginning at the City of Madison connection to the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District manhole at First Street and E. Johnson Street, and extending to the existing sewer main on Fordem Avenue. This project involves significant underground utility work, including coordination with multiple existing utilities such as ATC (underground), MCI/Verizon, MG&E Electric and Gas, and Cogent/Sprint. Special attention will be required for working around these facilities, including potential relocation or adjustment as needed. The scope also includes managing contaminated soil, dewatering operations, and adhering to strict traffic control and public safety measures throughout the construction period. Small Business Enterprise (SBE) participation is a key component of this solicitation, with a stated goal of 7% utilization.
