Description
The City of Janesville is soliciting proposals for the Fire Station No. 2 Shower Remodel project. The scope of work involves replacing the existing fiberglass shower unit in room 112 with a new, commercial-grade, three-piece fiberglass shower kit. This includes demolition of the existing unit, site preparation, framing, installation of a new shower kit and fixtures, and restoration of the room. Work is to be performed in accordance with provided plans, specifications, and manufacturer's recommendations. The contractor will be responsible for all demolition, site prep, rough-in framing, finishes, fixtures, and room restoration. Specific tasks include removing the existing shower unit and fixtures, inspecting and repairing the substrate, installing new framing and backer board, installing the new shower kit and fixtures (options include Kohler, Moen, or Delta), and applying sealant. Room restoration includes patching and painting drywall, and ensuring proper sealant application. Substantial completion is expected by October 9, 2026, with final completion by October 23, 2026. The contractor must coordinate work with the Fire Department staff, as the station will remain operational. This includes managing noise levels and ensuring clear access for emergency vehicles. The contractor is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and providing temporary facilities, including a porta-potty.
