Description
The City of Gainesville is seeking qualified firms to provide special inspections for the Eastside Bus Transfer Facility project. This project is currently in the bidding process. The scope of work includes providing all labor, materials, equipment, coordination, scheduling, and associated costs for special inspections and testing. These services must be performed by qualified independent testing and inspection agencies in accordance with the Florida Building Code Chapter 17, project specifications, and approved construction documents. Specific areas requiring inspection include cast-in-place concrete, concrete masonry unit (CMU) construction, structural steel framing, steel decking, soil preparation, earthwork, compaction testing, and heavy-duty asphalt pavement construction and testing. Firms must be licensed engineering firms in Florida with a minimum of 5 years of special inspection experience and demonstrated experience with municipal or transit projects. Personnel requirements include a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) as a Special Inspector, ICC-certified inspectors (structural, soils, concrete), and ACI-certified technicians for concrete testing. The firm must be able to provide daily reports and final compliance certification, meet the City of Gainesville's insurance requirements, and operate independently without a conflict of interest.
