Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive waste management and recycling services for its facilities in Connecticut. The services include the collection, recycling, and disposal of various waste streams, with a goal of achieving a 55% or greater recycling rate. The contract will involve providing compactors and dumpsters, managing waste audits, and developing a recycling plan. The period of performance includes a base period and four option years. The contractor will be responsible for all labor, supplies, and equipment for solid waste disposal and recycling services, including single stream recycling, scrap metal, and wood. The contract also requires the contractor to maintain compactors, provide a 24-hour emergency number, and respond to maintenance requests within 24 hours. The contractor must also provide a monthly tracking report of all waste and recycling shipments, detailing quantities and categorization, and conduct an annual waste stream survey.
