Description
This project involves the renovation of approximately 0.15 acres within the Alfred A. Ring Park Wildflower Garden. The scope of work includes the removal of existing site furnishings and select trees, site preparation, and the installation of new plantings, pergolas, benches, fencing, and trail improvements. Key clarifications from supplemental information include that a specific sweetgum tree on the southwest side of the garden shall remain, and that all invasive plants within or in close proximity (within 5 LF) of the garden area must be removed. Heavy equipment is to be limited to skid steers or equivalent to minimize damage to existing trails and surrounding plants and trees. The purchase, permitting, and installation of two pergolas are included in the bidder's scope of work, with cedar pergolas from The Greenhouse Nursery serving as the basis of design. Bidders are responsible for applying for building permits for the pergolas and must have the proper licensing to perform this task. Mirafi 140N geotextile fabric was used as the basis of design for the non-woven geotextile fabric. Invasive species to be removed are those listed by the Florida Invasive Species Council, with primary target species identified by the City's Habitat Naturalist prior to construction.
