Description
The City of Rockford is soliciting bids for the modernization of two existing elevators, Elevator #1 (hydraulic service elevator) and Elevator #2 (hydraulic passenger elevator), located at the Coronado Performing Arts Center (CPAC), 314 N Main St., Rockford, IL. The scope of work includes the installation of new solid-state controls and systems, drive motors, doors, traction cables, and wheelchair-accessible features, all in accordance with the attached specifications and drawings. Work may be performed on both elevators simultaneously or one at a time. The service elevator must have a capacity of at least 6,000 pounds and a speed of 100 feet per minute, while the passenger elevator must have a capacity of at least 3,500 pounds and a speed of 125 feet per minute. Bidders must be experienced in this type of work and will be evaluated based on compliance with specifications and overall responsibility. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on June 23rd at 11:00 am at the CPAC. Questions regarding contract language must be submitted in writing by June 29, 2026, with answers provided via addendum on June 30th. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
