Description
The City of Columbia is soliciting bids for the rehabilitation and upgrade of the Crockett Road and Atlas Road lift stations, as well as the decommissioning of the Versch Lock Lift Station. This project involves significant work on sewer lines, including the replacement of approximately 1,069 LF of 10-inch diameter DIP new gravity sewer and the connection to an existing 15-inch diameter DIP Mill Creek gravity sewer main. The Crockett Road lift station will be relocated and upgraded due to its age, and the Atlas Road lift station will be upgraded to improve its capacity. The project also includes the replacement of the Versch Lock Lift Station with new gravity sewer and force main infrastructure. Key activities include demolition of existing pump stations, installation of new gravity sewers and force mains, site work, electrical installations, and bypass pumping to maintain service during construction. Various permits and regulatory approvals from agencies such as SCDHEC, USACE, and SCDOT are required, and contractors must adhere to specific environmental and safety standards. The City encourages participation from Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) with a goal of 8% participation.
