Description
Summit County Government and the Town of Breckenridge are soliciting bids for the redesign of the Quandary Peak Trailhead. This project is divided into two phases: Phase 1 focuses on site assessments and data collection, with deliverables due by November 1, 2026. Phase 2 will involve engineered designs, including the preparation of construction-ready plans, specifications, and cost estimates. The final scope for Phase 2 will be determined after Phase 1 is completed. Key design elements include expanding the parking lot to accommodate 135 spaces (with a minimum of 50 additional spots and 2-3 ADA spaces), paving the lot, adding two vault toilets, maintaining the tree buffer, designing a separate pull-through shuttle area, retaining the helipad in its existing location, and incorporating appropriate drainage and snow storage solutions. Phase 1 requires a property survey, preliminary geotechnical report, utility survey, preliminary drainage and stormwater management report, environmental surveys, and a traffic impact analysis if directed. Phase 2 will involve final geotechnical and drainage reports, preparation of 30%, 60%, 90%, and 100% design plans, a revegetation plan, and a detailed cost estimate.
