Description
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is soliciting quotes for the West Dolores Rim Mastication Project, located near Egnar, Colorado. This project aims to treat approximately 132 acres of BLM land by mechanically masticating pinyon and juniper vegetation. The primary objectives are to reduce hazardous fuels, improve wildlife habitat, and manage overly dense canopy conditions. The scope of work includes the selective removal of 50 percent of live pinyon and juniper trees, proportionally balanced between species, and the removal of 50 percent of shrubs over 36 inches in height. All down and standing dead pinyon and juniper will also be masticated. The vegetation will be converted into mulch, with specific requirements for mulch size and distribution on the ground. The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, equipment, supplies, and transportation necessary to complete the work. Evaluation will be based on a Low Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) basis. Key evaluation factors include relevant project experience, technical capability, and price. Offerors must submit at least three relevant project references completed within the last five years. The performance period is scheduled from August 15, 2026, to November 30, 2026.
