The City of La Porte is seeking qualified contractors to provide aeration basin cleaning services at the Little Cedar Bayou Wastewater Treatment Plant. This service involves the pumping, removal, and cleaning of biosolids from aeration basins using a truck-mounted vacuum unit. The contract is for annual requirements, meaning services will be performed as needed. The work requires contractors to adhere to specific scheduling demands coordinated with the Treatment Plant Supervisor, as disruptions must be minimized. Services will be performed during normal working hours, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Contractors must be prepared to perform work in intermittent periods of no less than 4 hours each. Debris removed from the basins will primarily consist of dirt, sand, rags, grease, grit, and sludge. Any metal debris encountered must be separated and staged separately. Water removed will be discharged back to the plant's wet well. The contractor is responsible for moving debris to the dump pad, contingent on available capacity. Safety is paramount, with strict adherence to OSHA regulations and the City's Confined Space Policy required. The contractor must provide all necessary equipment, including a truck with a minimum 500-gallon water tank capacity and a 10-12 yard debris tank, along with all safety gear and tools.
