Description
The Rock Creek Restoration Project involves streambank stabilization at Bickelhaupt Arboretum, 340 South 14th Street, in Clinton, Iowa. Key improvements include approximately 3905 cubic yards of streambank stabilization earthwork, 0.7 acres of native wetland seeding, and the replacement of 17 linear feet of 18-inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) stormwater sewer. The project also requires the installation of 3490 square yards of turf reinforcement mat, along with striping, testing, mobilization, traffic control, erosion control, and surface restoration, including miscellaneous work and cleanup. The engineer's estimate for this project is $484,575. Bids must be submitted as physical, original hard copies of a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check to Clinton City Hall prior to the bid date and time to be considered legal. The City Council is scheduled to award the bid on July 28, 2026. The selected low bidder must return the signed contract and performance bond by August 6, 2026, and will be required to sign a statement complying with the City of Clinton's Safety Manual. The project is set to begin on October 1, 2026, with 80 working days allocated, and is expected to be completed by May 31, 2027.
