Description
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Communications Branch intends to award a sole source contract for 20 autonomous recording units (ARUs). These units are needed for detecting Eastern Black Rails in marshes across the South Atlantic states. The required units must be rugged, weather-proof for long deployments in humid and hot conditions, and compatible with equipment already in use by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Specifically, the units must be configurable via an iPhone app, a feature currently only offered by Wildlife Acoustics, Inc. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract under FAR subpart 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) and (ii). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334310 (Audio and Video Equipment Manufacturing), and the Product Service Code (PSC) is 5835 (Electronic & Communication Equipment).
