Description
The 60th Maintenance Squadron at Travis AFB, California, requires a Wheel Build-Up Stand and Assembly Torque System, specifically the Bauer Model 8071 Wheel Build-Up Stand and Bauer Model 8731 Wheel Assembly Torque System. This equipment is needed to support the maintenance of C-17, C-5, and KC-46 aircraft main and nose wheel assemblies. The requirement includes six (6) wheel adapters configured for these aircraft types, as well as on-site installation and training services. The contractor shall provide a manufacturer's warranty and deliver all items within 90 days of contract award. The solicitation specifies that this is a brand-name requirement for Bauer equipment. The Wheel Build-Up Stand must be a hydraulic-assisted, full-service platform capable of supporting single-operator tear-down and build-up procedures for various aircraft wheels, with quick-change adapters. The Assembly Torque System must be computer-controlled with twin spindles for precise pre-torque, final torque, and torque angle requirements, with adjustable spindles and an accuracy of 2% at maximum torque and 1 degree of torque angle. The system must also be capable of loosening nuts during disassembly. The system must be adjustable for wheel diameters from 16 to 24 inches and tire diameters from 37 to 50 inches.
