Description
The County of Calaveras is soliciting proposals from independent, licensed, professional consultant firms with expertise in Construction Management for their 2025-26 road resurfacing and paving program. The ideal consultant will have experience working with local government agencies on roadway improvement projects and will represent the County's interests while managing the program with minimal guidance. The scope of work includes performing the duties of Resident Engineer and Construction Inspector, ensuring conformance with the construction contract documents, and managing project records. The consultant will also be responsible for authorizing or stopping work, accepting or rejecting work based on conformance with contract documents, preparing change orders, and scheduling work to meet approved CPM schedules. The consultant will provide all necessary resources, including personnel, office equipment, and field equipment, to successfully perform the work. Deliverables include initial job site walk-throughs, pre-construction photos, meeting agendas and minutes, RFI logs, submittal logs, change order logs, material testing logs, daily field inspection reports, project pay estimates, quantity calculation sheets, documentation of extra work, change orders, quality assurance results, and as-built plans. The County will provide basic criteria for project design, record drawings, pre-printed specifications, relevant county records, and will mediate with landowners for access.
