Description
The City of Phoenix is seeking qualifications for engineering services related to the rehabilitation of its large diameter sanitary sewer ductile iron pipelines and manholes. The project focuses on infrastructure identified as NASSCO Grade 3, with pipe sizes generally ranging from fifteen to sixty inches in diameter. Services may include programming, prioritization, preparation of documents for permitting, collaboration with contractors on rehabilitation solutions, and construction administration and inspection. The scope of work involves providing construction administration and inspection to ensure system functionality and public safety. This includes assisting with permits, overseeing construction activities, inspecting work quality, reviewing contractor submittals and payment applications, and performing field inspections. The consultant will also be responsible for evaluating rehabilitation documentation, conducting meetings, preparing punch lists, reviewing as-built drawings, and compiling all project records onto a USB drive. Inspectors must have OSHA trenching and excavation certification, and confined space training. A NACE Level III inspector is required for manhole coating inspections. Design services may also be included, involving the evaluation of existing documentation to identify viable rehabilitation alternatives, proposing repair methods, addressing capacity reductions, and preparing design documents for permitting and approval. The selected consultant will be required to use UNIFIER, a web-based project management database, and maintain all project records in electronic format.
