Description
Douglas County is soliciting proposals for a site contractor to design, fabricate, and install fire suppression systems at two locations: the DOT Maintenance Complex (8251 Chicago Avenue, Douglasville, GA 30134) and the Douglas County Sheriff's Department Complex (8470 Earl D. Lee Blvd, Douglasville, GA 30134). At the DOT Maintenance Complex, the project involves installing a new NFPA 13 wet sprinkler system throughout an existing storage building. This building will be utilized for DOT equipment storage and a small print shop office area. The scope is limited to interior sprinkler design, permitting, and installation, with the site fire water line being brought into the building under a separate contract. At the Sheriff's Department Complex, the project includes deactivating an existing wet sprinkler system and installing new Clean Agent Fire Suppression systems in an existing server/computer room (S150) and adjacent telecom room (S151). Additionally, a Hydramist (or equivalent) suppression system will be installed in the main electrical room (S123) and emergency electrical room (S124). The contractor will be responsible for the turnkey design, permitting, installation, and any necessary room sealing, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing modifications. All work within the Sheriff's Department Complex will be performed under strict jail supervision while the facility is in operation.
