Description
The State of California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) is soliciting bids for comprehensive office moving services. This includes labor, equipment, and materials for packing, moving, transportation, delivery, unpacking, and move management. The scope of work also encompasses the disassembly and reassembly of modular furniture, including reconfiguration and handling of moves, adds, and changes. All sensitive equipment, such as electrical items, computers, and printers, must be pad-wrapped. The contractor will also be responsible for the storage of property in a secured location, removal of surplus property, and disposal of packing materials, rubbish, and debris from government premises as directed. Hazardous materials removal is explicitly excluded. The contractor will be required to provide a move coordinator and conduct visual inspections of goods to be moved. Bids will be based on contractor rates, with a "not to exceed" price. The contract includes provisions for modular furniture moving and reconfiguring, move coordination and planning, packing, pickup, unpacking, limits of liability, valuation of articles, and filing claims. Storage-in-transit services may also be required. Key requirements for bidders include holding a C-61, Category D-34 license, a business license from their city/county of headquarters, and maintaining current insurance certificates for Commercial General Liability ($1,000,000 per occurrence/$2,000,000 aggregate), Automobile Liability (if applicable), and Workers' Compensation ($1,000,000 liability limit, if applicable). Bidders must also comply with California civil rights laws, the Unruh Civil Rights Act, the Fair Employment and Housing Act, and possess a valid Motor Carrier Permit (MCP) or a Household Goods Carrier Permit. The contract term is anticipated to be from July 10, 2026, or upon approval, through June 30, 2029, with an estimated budget of approximately $49,900.00.
