Description
The Maritime Expeditionary Security Group ONE (MESG-1) requires two kits of Air Transport Test Loading Activity (ATTLA) certified Defense Airlift Modular Approach Shoring (DAMAS). The shoring system must be rated for 36,000-lb axles with a 3.5-to-one safety factor. The system is intended to replace the current method of using heavy, wood-based shoring, which is logistically burdensome and time-consuming to assemble. The DAMAS system should be manufactured from high-grade aluminum, feature protective integrated materials on components that contact the aircraft ramp, and be modular for assembly by 2-3 personnel within approximately 30 minutes without specialized tools. The system must meet ATTLA certification requirements for loading a 40ft Patrol Boat on a quad-axle trailer and a Freightliner M2 112 6x6 truck onto an Air Force C-17 and/or C-5 aircraft. Delivery is required on or before August 28, 2026, to NOLF Imperial Beach, CA.
