Description
The Department of the Army is seeking 40 feet and 20 feet of 4340 alloy steel bar, square, conforming to SAE AMS6414/6415/6484 specifications. The dimensions required are 9.00" +0.125" x 9.00" +0.125" with minimum lengths of 10.00' and maximum lengths of 12.00' in 1.00' increments. This material is intended for use in 155mm M284 cannons. The material shall be normalized or annealed, and merchant quality and free-machining grades are not allowed. Material shall not be flame-cut or cut from plate. Specific heat lot numbers must be marked/stamped on each article if the material lot contains multiple heat lots. The final draw/tempering temperature and date must be included in the certificate package. Certified Test Reports are required with each shipment, and inspection is required.
