Description
The Department of State (DoS) is seeking a contractor to establish a rate agreement for Defense Base Act (DBA) insurance. This insurance is required by law for all DoS contracts and subcontractors working outside the continental United States to provide equivalent workers' compensation insurance to their employees. The U.S. Government reimburses DBA insurance carriers for claims paid in connection with injuries or deaths from war hazards. The selected insurer will be responsible for providing this coverage to eligible contractors and subcontractors, and will be required to handle claims according to specific standards. The contract will be a no-cost, fixed-rate type, with pricing determined by rates per $100 of employee salary for services, construction, and security categories, with potential adjustments based on loss ratios over multiple option periods.
