Description
This solicitation seeks a contractor to correct deficiencies in medical gas systems on the 3rd floor of the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System's Fort Wayne Campus. The work includes ensuring all oxygen, medical air, medical vacuum, waste anesthetic gas disposal (WAGD), nitrogen, and nitrous oxide valves, alarms, and infrastructure are fully code compliant and operational, adhering to NFPA 99, 2018 Edition. Specific corrections involve installing new area alarm panels, retrofitting existing ones, and providing new zone valve boxes (ZVBs) with intervening walls as required by code. The scope also includes installing nitrogen zone valves and a complete WAGD system for specific surgery ward rooms, ensuring proper vacuum levels, non-contact pumping mechanisms, and exhaust management. Work above hard lid ceilings is also included, requiring selective demolition, temporary closures, ICRA-compliant barriers, and full ceiling restoration. The contractor must coordinate with Infection Prevention and Control to complete an Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) and implement all required measures. A detailed phasing and shutdown plan must be submitted, with each room commissioned sequentially. All installations must be performed by credentialed ASSE 6010 medical gas installers and qualified brazers. The project includes comprehensive NFPA 99 testing, commissioning witnessed by a Commissioning Agent (CxA), and a one-year warranty on parts, labor, and workmanship. Deliverables include final test reports, as-built AutoCAD drawings, updated utility maps, valve tag lists, and lockout/tagout point identification.
